Aifak, one by one they are opening accounts with some Russian bank, and they pay that bank in Euros or Dollars. The bank converts it to rubles - and forwards them to the seller - Russia.

Some are looking for a way to avoid it. Poland is buying from Germany and pays them in Euros (plus a cut). Germany pays (de facto) in rubles.

My understanding is that all this started due to sanctions - because Dollars and Euros the Russians would be receiving would be subject to seizure under the sanctions.
