There is a major war going on in the middle of Europe - in effect, a proxy war between Russia and NATO. That’s a big deal… so, naturally, it takes up most of the attention.

My read - having followed the story ever since the blowup of the USSR - is that, first and foremost, it’s about geopolitical positioning. Everything else comes second.

Bad but simple example - there aren’t any good ones - imagine for a moment that Venezuela or Brazil or whoever formed a nuclear military block. We would be extremely worried and would try to keep that from happening. BUT - if they decided to involve Mexico - we would’ve gone to war.

Basically, that’s what it is.

About articles… it’s your call — personally, I’d rather that you posted them here. Keep us from going nuts over Ukraine :)
