Lyme disease…. These days most of the time it would take a few dollars worth of antibiotics - and it’s gone.

Easy to criticize medicine and Pharma - and very often, for good reasons - but the improvements over the past many years have been amazing. Last January my wife had surgery for a pituitary adenoma. A couple of days later she was home - and in another couple of weeks - back to normal. Before the MRI (or at least CT) it would be practically impossible to diagnose it - until after serious damage already occurred… and the surgery used to be very traumatic. There are many, many examples.

Skin is right about Lyme disease but it took many years before anyone could properly diagnose, and the trick is hitting it early with antibiotics. I don't know what the risk is using Advantix a dog medicine but I'm willing to splash a few drops on to avoid tick borne ailments.
