The bad thing about it is gas companies will use 12-month rolling futures, so the June 2022 futures are being rolled into June 2023 futures next month. That means summer build in natural gas supplies in 2023 will largely reflect this year's prices, which will mean two winters of discontent for households who use natural gas for heat.

It also means much of the high price pain for electrical customers in warm areas (with NatGas as flex demand power) will be felt in the summer of 2023.
