Hey, thanks for the reassurance, I came to the AOL thread expecting some heavy duty punishment, instead I found some nice people... What you say is exactly what I tell myself when I go against the market but the fundamentals seem to be in my favor! My most profitable long and short trades have come at times when everyone was betting the other way. I remember when I first bought INTC at 52 the Spring of 96, two splits ago; MSFT at around 80; also two splits ago. AMAT at 25 one split ago, COMS at 38 the summer of 96, before reaching 80 in Jan 97. A good chunk of ATT in the 37-31 range less than a year ago... IMO if one has the guts/funds to ride the momentum storm things should work out. If you really think about it, is there any thing that gives you more bang for your short $$$ than selling short in the middle of a short squeeze? However, picking the absolute top on a stock is impossible, and I am admit I move a bit too fast on both the long and short side!
