RDB: RE AOL: all the [partial] evidence in today's news seems to indicate earnings should be not "a bit bad" but instead awful. The puzzling thing is the run up. If earnings are bad tomorrow, I will believe that some co's do manage to keep earning releases from leaking.

AOL announces they'll raise rates 10%, and the stock moves up 10%.

I guess Yahoo needs to announce they're raising their advertising rates. Since it's a one-to-one payoff in the stock valuation, why stick to a 10% hike? They may as well announce they're doubling their rates, so the stock will double in a day to 130.
