Oh how sweet! We had a pet deer when I was a child, so I’ve never eaten venison- they are amazing creatures and become domesticated very easily, as you see. I love that you keep your land as a safe space… my cousin does that as well, and the deer graze very close to her porch. Thanks for posting the pics! Love it!

Actually when I think about it, I do hunt occasionally. I have what I consider a genetic flaw in some of my bucks from time to time. The tines on their rack on one side grow together instead of branching out. Any time I spot one, I'll hunt it so it doesn't pass it on. It must have been working because I saw fewer and fewer and haven't seen one in a couple years now. I'll also hunt if I see one with an injury.
