Um, AFAIK the insistence on pronouns used is by certain individuals. There has been no legislation on the subject. As someone on the spectrum, I am very aware that any accommodation for differences by a tiny minority is a courtesy and not a right. Me, I am satisfied with not being bullied. However, there are those who are demanding accommodations. So, by your argument, I can rightly expect a backlash that marginalize me and others even more than is the case now. Trans people have been bullied and marginalized for a very long time. Now they are targets, with people like Noodles piling on. And it is clearly political. That usually ends badly for the targeted group.
