William, I am not sure about AMAT. I used to have a lot of respect for them, even though I think they are at the top of the up cycle and heading down. They were always terminally optimistic, but they fooled themselves as much as they fooled the Street, IMHO. However, after last quarter when they scammed the orders #, not letting folks know that their biggest order from the quarter came from, guess who, an AMAT partnership, I fear that they have been co-opted into the spin the momentum geeks, screw ethics and credibility crowd. If they say anything positive about the near-term future tomorrow, then they are really on my demerit list. With 54 pct. of their business in Asia, most of it in DRAM, I just won't buy a pickup in orders sequentially.

My guess is that they will try to be more honest now that the danger to their business is truly serious, and even they can recognize it. The eps will probably be in line, but I expect them to recognize near term deterioration and then return to the CEO's disease of seeing the silver lining in every hurricane. -g- I expect the fish to bite at the bait, at least for awhile.
