It is state-sanctioned bullying. That always results in dead people. I think that we have somewhere gone off track and must not be talking about the same thing.

It is state-sanctioned bullying. The state can only police it when it becomes or approaches violent. And it will, mostly, perhaps half-heartedly in some quarters. You can't legislate or police respectfulness, good manners, and generosity of spirit. As for the state-sanctioned bit, shame on them. Needs to be fought vigorously but judiciously. Whatever choices we make, they come with some anticipatable burdens and limitations. The world doesn't owe anybody immunity from inevitable consequences. Nobody is promised a rose garden.
