More LIES from locoLIAR:The choice of Arlington, across the Potomac River from Washington, underscores the importance of the federal government and its regulatory bodies to Boeing, which is a leading military contractor as well as a major manufacturer of commercial aircraft. The company relocated its Defense, Space and Security unit to the Washington area from St. Louis in 2017.
.......................
In its statement on Thursday, Boeing said it would maintain a “significant presence” in Chicago and the surrounding region, adding that changes arising from the pandemic allowed the company to reduce its office needs and invest in manufacturing and engineering instead.

BTW, all the military competitors of Boeing have been there for a long time. And it makes sense for Boeing to cut huge expenses in travel as well as be close with one of their biggest customer, the US government. With US military spending about to increase, this make absolute business sense.

Boeing CEO Calhoun offered thanks to Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin and U.S. Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., for their support.

Locogringo, I didn't care much about Boeing when they first moved their HQ from Washington state to Illinois 20 years ago. I remember discussing it with Tejek back then. (He was convinced that Boeing made the move in order to piss off the unions.)

Hence when I saw the news that Boeing is moving their HQ again, I immediately thought it was a complete waste of money. Therefore, I didn't bother to look into any details regarding this latest move.

Besides, Boeing is moving to Arlington, VA, which is as deep blue as you can get politically. Northern Virginia in particular has gone completely woke. I personally don't consider their politics as any different than here in the San Francisco Bay Area.
