When Simplicity showed up here on SI I got to "know" her and we ended up privately corresponding with one another. That developed into one of those remote, online friendships so common on social media. She and I hoped to be able to meet one day, but that wasn't to be. I've saved the PM's she sent to me, and I particularly remember the good back and forth's she and I and KLP had on a couple of the political threads. Unfortunately we'd lost track of one another over the last few years. I know she really had her hands full, and faced some heartbreaking and very challenging difficulties. Looking back over those pm's this morning, I am reminded of her bravery, optimism and faith. As well as being a very intelligent women with a gift for writing, she was a kind and gentle soul. I am so very sorry to here of her passing. "Joanie" was a great patriot with a definite conservative bent. It was a complete honor to have known her.
