kind of weird to re-visit Wikipedia and read 'the Invasion of Panama' codenamed Operation Just Cause. Maybe Noriega wasn't getting his fair share of the 'take' & decided to go rogue. There was a lot of cocaine transferred to the U.S. back then, obviously a lot of money to be had via the southern border. Here's a true story & gives pause for thought.. when I got to VietNam in late '67, I was in TahNinh Province, N.W. of Saigon. Twice a week, we'd go to Saigon to repurchase 'our' food' on the black mkt. We thought the quartermaster corp was stealing from. In retrospect, I don't think the quartermaster group could have setup was up such a task on the grand scale. the CIA, business is business no matter the flag side of the ledger.. there's always some evidence of truth that there's money to be had in people's misery.
