Additional "split" for thought (I am not long nor short BTW--just watching):

sec.gov

<<Common stock, $.01 par value, 300,000,000 shares authorized, 102,157,066 and 100,188,971 shares issued and outstanding at September 30, 1997 and June 30, 1997, respectively>>

With 300k authorized and only 102k out now, AOL could do a 2-for-1, 5-for-2, or even 3-for-2 split.

It would not surprise me one bit to see some split announcement within 24 hrs.
