The press is the most important thing to ensure one's freedom. The fist thing a dictator like Putin will do is shut down the free press, as he has done in Russia.

15 year prison sentence for using the word "War"!

Without a free press, where would we find out the truth? The people one cannot trust are those that shut down a free press.

One can tell the health of a democracy simply by seeing how free the press is.

And it depends on what media we are talking about. There are some media and people who are trustworthy and some who are not.

The trick is to know the difference.

The "Big Lie" so many Republicans are now telling is the most audacious lie I have ever seen in my lifetime of following politics.

And. one can never trust FOX to tell the truth and worse even to know the truth as they not only lie, but are stupid.

But news outlets like the New York Times, or MSNBC usually get it right.

But best of all is to find the pundits one can trust like E.J.Dionne, Charles Blow, etc.

I am 80 years old and have followed politics all my life.

The one thing i know for sure is that the right wing and Republican party have always been a danger to our county for their lies and dishonesty.

This serious, it's not like Tommie's screams about damn Ukrainian Nazis. It's a serious attempt to prove that NATO and Ukraine attacked Russia, and Russia just tried to protect its national security. This story may deserve serious and detailed consideration like "View from another side" or "Story from behind the scenes", but ... No, Not at all. This story is just a bunch of lies from Russian side to make excuses for attacking another country and starting barbaric war in Europe in XXI century. The only real reason for Russia to invade Ukraine was - to get its biggest colony back to restore Russian Empire. Period. No other reasons. The Empire does not exist without Ukraine. To restore Empire Putin must get his colony back. The end of the story.
