Lane, it just seems to me progress could be made on the issue if the focus were on that small number of instances involving a true need, rather than on a political argument.

There are rare exceptions where a surgical abortion fills a true medical need. IN those instances, fine.

But using abortion as birth control is just not necessary, other than as a political irritant.

There is no sense in that. It is large a problem of the uneducated, and the uneducated need to be brought up to speed and the problem goes away. Having people who were uneducated in the 60s or 70s is one thing; but today, there is just not a reason for that. We are more advanced as a society.

Hell, the medical community is working overtime to eliminate the need for invasive procedures. So, biopsies are being replaced by computational MRI, robotic surgery is being used to "downsize" traditional surgeries where possible, we do everything we can in this day to eliminate surgery.

For some reason, we still want to use surgical procedures for birth control. I don't get it.
