On Monday, Standard and Poor's Corp (S&P) announced it had lowered its long-term senior debt and counterparty ratings on IBJ to A minus from A and its short-term counterparty rating to A2 from A1. Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp (NYSE:NTT - news; 9432.T) (NTT), after a newspaper report said it would set up a venture with Japan Satellite Systems (JSAT) by the end of February to provide a high-speed internet access service via satellite in April.
