I don't think any regulars here have mentioned a 2008 GFC event. That's a once in 3-generations type thing, IMO.

I think most of us are in the bear market camp, which is where most of the major indices are right now, so that's not particularly profound thnking in and of itself.

A lot of those repos are smaller banks just trying to get some yield to cover their CDs to customers. They can't trade stocks/futures with it. If mom and pop want a mortgage, it has to be available for loan hence the overnight label.
At least that's how I understand it.
