i doubt they have to militarize their border unless russia gives them reason. i expect they can join the nato group without significant changes. russia has it hands full without crossing into their country.

Also, he thinks Finland will be a problem. At the very least, they would need to militarize their entire border with Russia - which, as I recall, goes all the way up, well north of Murmansk.


Most of the border area on both sides is uninhabited tundra with few people or roads. It really does not need much defense.

Norway wraps around the top of Sweden and Finland all the way to Russia. There are already NATO bases near Murmansk.
