Energy is... what everything is built on...

Remains true whether as the power of single person... or technological improvement in use of "horse power"... or its engineered parallels in modern alternatives to plow horses...

Money... not as a concept but as a practical matter... is a derivative of energy use, and its application in production.. with greater or lesser efficiency... and, thus, of course... trade... without which there's no use for money as barter will work well enough ?

Production... or its origins in innovation... are sources of improved conversion of energy to value... in things useful to have... whether essentials... water, food, shelter... or toys... or luxuries... ?

Get it right... and we trend toward greater luxuries...

Get it wrong... and we fail to feed people... and cease to exist...

Get it wrong... only relatively.... and still cease to exist as failed in competition... as, for instance... Mayans and Incas... or communism... serially failing that exact set of tests in not feeding people... and not advancing...

And, a lot of confusion between the extremes... because people are stupid... all the more relevant now as we're on the cusp of needing to question... "how could we have gotten it that wrong... AGAIN"...
