<You think everybody starting using netscape because of the table tags? >

Yes, and all of the other nifty innovations that made it better than standard's based Mosiac.

<Well, nobody who wasn't a Microsoft true believer would hang out for more than a cursory glance at your site, so I imagine it doesn't make much difference.>

Tell that to the 300 or so NSCP users who spent about 13 minutes on the site yesterday.

<But most people think that $1000 (or $500, soon enough) PCs are a good idea, and there wouldn't be any of those around if your holy "necessity of a proprietary lock" thing was true.>

I hate to rain on your parade, but the sub-$1000 dollar PC's will be the king of the proprietary lock. If you did your research, you would know that Intel will be releasing a specialized PII without the secondary cache to the low end PC market (sub $800). This will effectively wipe out the non-proprietary slot I architecture, the Pentium chip, and AMD and CYRIX/NSM. Guess what, the market will go for it, because INTC will be injecting superior performance in lieu of the open, yet technically inferior (or at least slower) slot II.
