Alexander, I don't think that's the case in SLAM's niche...

I completely agree that there are larger competitors in the overall extended stay market. Where I disagree is when you look at the economy-priced segment. Yes, ESA is entering that market, but the latest build-out numbers I saw showed SLAM comfortably ahead (and in geographically distant areas).

Your argument was the same argument used againt LaQuinta in the early 80's and they had a helluva run. Good service and good price will always give you a market niche. Besides, their above-average occupancy rates lend credence to the idea that they are doing something right.
