There has been much mention of smaller margins associated with ATM versus TDM. Does anyone know the exact percent figures? And why are Cisco's margins much higher?

Thanks in advance for any info.

Bay official says ATM deal imminent
www5.zdnet.com
In the past week, various print and online stories have reported that Bay will announce a reseller deal next week with either Fore Systems Inc. or NEC Corp. Both companies make high-end ATM switches that are used to move data across corporate backbone networks at rates that can exceed 655 megabits per second. A core switch in Bay's arsenal would presumably compliment the company's Centillion switch family, which is designed for local area network environments.
