Re: Young Folk Portfolio -- Add On Buys

I made several small purchases today with a partial monthly cash contribution and dividends that have been accumulating in this account. I define small purchases in this portfolio as $400-500 each. The objective here was to add to the defensive sectors to help offset some of the higher exposure to cyclicals.

I was also trying to achieve a blended yield of 2.75% or more as I do need to increase the portfolio yield which was 2.35% going into today.

I added to the following:

LSI .. PLD .. TSCO .. HSY .. TU.

Today's purchases equal a 2.77% yield with a 10.50% 5 year dividend growth rate for a Chowder Number of 13.20, an excellent dividend growth combination of yield + dividend growth.

This was all in the Roth account and this account is 100% invested. I still have over $13K in cash in the taxable account which I will not put to work until the third week of this month, target date around the 21st.
