Loren........you have very succinctly described one of the basic differences of opinion that "lurks" beneath the surface on these threads, and there are very fine helpful people on both sides of the issue. Your position makes plenty of sense, but those who don't think that actual dollars earned should be made public knowledge have their legitimate point. I for one have been happy to show the dates that a system of mine kicked in and gave either a Buy or Sell signal, and the date that the same system reversed the trade. The main point is, I believe, that we are obstensively here to share. I've been around long enough to have experienced a few "bad apples" who have come along with no intention of "sharing", but only want to take from and not give to. When they weren't handed the Holy Grail on a silver platter, they became very offensive and, in one case I can remember, downright rude. This offends the senses of people who have worked long and hard to develop a system, often in concert with others who have been willing to share. Those "bad apples" have, in effect, spoiled the full potential of the thread for all. If someone gives me the essence of a new system, I don't wait and demand exact results. I go to my own software, code it in in my software's language, and then test it against the kinds of stocks I tend to trade in. I'm content with that. I'm also happy to share my results with others, but only on the basis of Entry and Exit dates, not on actual dollars gained or lost. I guess I let people look for themselves as to whether they think what I have works for them or not. That's my position, but I certainly don't consider it the only one a well-meaning person might take. FWIW Best Wishes, Chan
