In palm springs my water bill was under 20 bux a month with my irrigation on year round
the house was teeny and I used little heat
and ac sparingly 17 weeks a year
I know how to live cheap any where and really admire how you live, you are amazing
But I can't live without a being able to be outside comfortably year round and I need a beach
I don't use much of anything, my carbon footprint is small over a lifetime
I chose Palm springs and where I live currently for the water sources and mild climate and low fire hazard
so right now central coast is my thing
I lived small in the OC and was very comfortable on a small budget
I'm a modest liver who insists on a perfect ocean side climate
for this I'm happy to sacrifice what others seem to need
my mom lived in Jersey and her heating bill in her small retirement home was 500 a month
wiped out a lot of her income
I do drive a nice car but it's safe and my mileage low...
