I agree that TI is great at innovation and that MU is good at making commodity DRAM.
I don't agree that TI is not good at manufacturing. That is one of their main strengths. They built silicon transistors in volume first, ic's same story.I was at Ti when all the state side companies got out of dram----TI had a plan to stay because they knew the far east would keep the price up---therefore it was never their main thrust like it was for MU who got back in and made it their main product line-----also TI did the joint venture to spreed the risk of the cycle and not have to use their manufacturing resources on dram---------tell the people in Lubbock ,Houston,Dallas and ect.---they are not good at manufacturing and listen to the industry leading cycle time improvements that have been implemented in the last 10 years---Ti may turn out to be the World Class leader in s/c manufacturing .
