Skeeter, Assuming that you use the same process ( and companies that
are aggressive with their shrinks like Micron will ), the core DRAM
cell will occupy 4x the space. However, you save on i/o pads, address
decode, border area, and other overhead. The net effect is that a
64 MBit die is about 3x a 16 MBit die.

However, yield on the larger die will be significantly lower.

The net effect is about a 30% boost in bit capacity once yields on
the 64 MBit parts are good. This is in addition to the normal
improvements in bit capacity due to die shrinks and yield improvement.
