INTC purchased the CD from TAVA. That indicates that they've got chips in their production lines that need checking. I don't think (but don't know) they're using TAVA to check the chips they produce. But I suspect they've got a lot of legacy chips in their production facilities from their early days.

>>I looked through Intel's Y2k notices. It seems they addressed the issue at the time line split between the 486 and pentium incarnations. <<

j.g., a chip fabrication plant requires a massive and complicated infrastructure just to maintain the internal environment...air, water, electrical power distribution and god knows what else.

Inside the fab, there is an incredible amount of automatic equipment to take the wafers through the steps that finally result in completed chips.

I would imagine that these would be the areas where TAVA would be engaged, rather than with any design issues pertaining to Intel chips.
