I hope everybody is reading this: Silicon Graphics Sets the Mark as the World's Fastest, Most Scalable Web Servers -- Everest Initiative Results in World Record Web Serving Performance on CC-NUMA-based WebFORCE Origin Servers:

biz.yahoo.com

This terrific article outlines the WebFORCE server -- the product that I predict will turn earnings around late this quarter. This is exactly the area where SGI can outcompete all competition while earning huge profit margins -- massive, ulta-fast server installations, seamlessly integrated with Netscape.

Of course in the time since this project was planned, Netscape is now losing money, actively shopping for corperate buyers, and is giving away its browser for free to hold market share against Microsoft.
Typical SGI luck.

Nevertheless, Netscape is also being pushed into the arms of SGI. I know what Ed McCrackin would have done next -- BUY NETSCAPE!

This press release should be worth several bucks/share, in my opinion.

Mathon, allright i did fudge a little. the person in the story did leave the convent before the incident took place, but theologically speaking, she had taken those lifetime vows, and did spend 20 years in the order. the rest is all true. and i did have a friend confront Ed in Gore's office, and he did repent.
