Trump 'refuses to accept reality': Murdoch newspaper says it’s time for GOP to move on

Bob Brigham
June 10, 2022

Fox News refused to broadcast Thursday's prime-time hearing by the Jan. 6 select committee, but Rupert Murdoch's New York tabloid editorialized on the subject on Friday.

"The Jan. 6 Commission is a Democratic campaign ad, a thinly veiled partisan exercise — aired in primetime, with the cooperation of a liberal press — to bolster a failed Joe Biden presidency. But rather than ignore it or look to the future, Donald Trump, the King Lear of Mar-a-Lago, decided to tweet — er, Truth — yet another statement confirming that he refuses to accept reality," the New York Post editorial board wrote.

Trump was permanently suspended from Twitter after he was accused of inciting the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

"The Unselect Committee didn’t spend one minute studying the reason that people went to Washington, D.C., in massive numbers, far greater than the Fake News Media is willing to report, or that the Unselects are willing to even mention, because January 6th was not simply a protest, it represented the greatest movement in the history of our Country to Make America Great Again. It was about an Election that was Rigged and Stolen, and a Country that was about to go to HELL..& look at our Country now!" Trump posted on Thursday.

The newspaper said Trump was wrong.

"It wasn’t, of course. It was a national shame. One that neither Democrats nor Trump can stop obsessing over. It’s time for Republicans to move on," the newspaper counseled. "But Trump has become a prisoner of his own ego. He can’t admit his tweeting and narcissism turned off millions. He won’t stop insisting that 2020 was 'stolen' even though he’s offered no proof that it’s true."The editorial board wrote the expected 2024 presidential candidate is unfit for the job.

"Respected officials like former Attorney General Bill Barr call his rants “nonsense.” This isn’t just about Liz Cheney. Mitch McConnell, Betsy DeVos, Mark Meadows — they all knew Trump was delusional. His own daughter and son-in-law testified it was bull," the NY Post wrote. "Meanwhile, reports that Trump was pleased that the Jan. 6 crowd chanted for Vice President Mike Pence to be hanged — a truly reprehensible sentiment — makes him unworthy for the office. Trump can’t look past 2020. Let him remain there."

The editorial board suggested Republicans focus on making America sane again.

Lauren Boebert deflects after being questioned about asking Trump to pardon her for Jan. 6-related activities

She tweeted about Pelosi's location. Sounds like she wanted the riotous mob to track down Pelosi and kill her.

Trump makes Friday night endorsement of Republican he had declared ‘not in any way qualified’

Bob Brigham
June 10, 2022

Former President Donald Trump announced a major endorsement on Friday that marks a dramatic reversal of his views on an open Senate race.

After GOP Sen. Richard Shelby, first elected in 1986 as a Democrat before switching parties in 1994, announced his retirement, Trump endorsed Rep. Mo Brooks against Katie Britt, who served as Shelby's chief of staff.

"I see that the RINO Senator from Alabama, close friend of Old Crow Mitch McConnell, Richard Shelby, is pushing hard to have his “assistant” fight the great Mo Brooks for his Senate seat," Trump said in a July 2021 statement.

"She is not in any way qualified and is certainly not what our Country needs or not what Alabama wants. For Mitch McConnell to be wasting money on her campaign is absolutely outrageous. Vote for Mo Brooks!" Trump urged. "He stands for America First, and everything Alabama wants. He also has my Complete and Total Endorsement."

But in March, Trump un-endorsed Brooks.

And on Friday, Trump endorsed Britt shortly before 10 p.m. in Mar-a-Lago.

"Last year I endorsed Mo Brooks for the U.S. Senate because I thought he was a Fighter, especially when it came to the Rigged and Stolen Presidential Election of 2020. The evidence is irrefutable," Trump falsely claimed. "Then, out of nowhere, and for seemingly no reason, Mo backtracked and made a big mistake by going Woke at our massive Cullman, Alabama Rally. Instead of denouncing the Voter Fraud in the Election, Mo lectured the crowd of 63,000 people saying, “Put that behind you, put that behind you,” meaning that, in effect, forget the Rigged Election and go on to the future."
"Mo was strongly booed by tens of thousands of Great Alabama Patriots for abandoning his constituents, and what they know to be true about the Election Fraud. He foolishly started listening to the wrong consultants and not to the people, and his 54-point lead evaporated overnight. Likewise, his words caused me to withdraw my Endorsement, and Mo has been wanting it back ever since—but I cannot give it to him!"

Trump then went on to praise the candidate he called unqualified less than a year earlier.

"Katie Britt, on the other hand, is a fearless America First Warrior. The opposition says Katie is close to Mitch McConnell, but actually, she is not—in fact, she believes that McConnell put Mike Durant in the race to stop her, which is very possibly true," Trump said. "Above all, Katie Britt will never let you down. So Get Out and Vote for Katie Britt on June 21st in the Alabama Senate Runoff—she has my Complete and Total Endorsement!"

"JewSA" Racist rant aimed at Asian man and his white fiancee in Westchase area of Houston (Westchase is north of Chinatown - the one in Alief). But he calls them Jews. He approached them aggressively but their dogs scared him away:

"The video was captured by Andy Tran Tuesday morning in the Westchase area," reported Brittany Ford. "Tran said he and his fiancée were walking their dogs when the man approached them. 'It was a little scary at first. We haven't really ever encountered someone being outwardly racist and screaming at us,' Tran said."

"Jewish couple right there! Jewish couple! Look at that fat m*****f**ker," the man can be heard shouting in the video as he walked ahead of them in the street. "Film me, boy! I'm better looking than you. M*****f**ker. Jew-SA. The Jews. You got an ugly f**kin' boyfriend. You're like all white girls that date n****rs and Mexicans and f**kin' cheats all over the goddamn place. Ugly m*****f**kers!"

"Take your Jewish technology and film me, boy!" he shouted at another point.

"Tran says their two dogs helped scare the man off," said the report. "The couple shared the video with law enforcement and social media in hopes to warn others." The man in the video, if identified, could face terroristic threat charges.

The man can be seen and heard here:
