a tid bit of news that might be of interest to this thread.....

I was listening to an NPR special on Maryland politics this morning, and apparently some of the state representatives are pushing a referendum to allow VGM's in the state on a limited basis (primarily as a means for saving the dying horse racing industry). Although this state representative (did not catch his name) kept referring to the machines as "video lottery machines", they were described as having casino style games of chance. The governor has been adamantly opposed to ANY gaming in the state (other than the state run lottery and horse racing, apparently!), but he has not been a very popular governor. A while back, BNGO was contemplating VGM's near Chesapeake Beach, if I remember correctly.

Should be an interesting battle.
