You nailed the initial reaction with that system.

I flipped back and forth during that also but pretty much got lucky rather than skill. Just happened to be in sync until the end.
I got hedged about 80% a few minutes before the announcement, dumped almost all on the initial drop, bought it back on the bounce, then dumped half on the next dump. I was good to that point but then on the big ramp job, I got hedged again too early but thought I got a bargain because I bought much lower than I was planning on only because I couldn't get my order filled out fast enough. LOL
I messed up when I increased my short size using their money on profit from the first trades. When we finally pulled back, I trimmed some and am letting it ride but I'm slightly under water on the short side.
I have both SPXL and SPXS just because it's easier for me to buy twice as much of one thing then sell, buy etc than to sell one, switch to the other and buy it when switching I'm flipping from long to short and back to long etc.
As of now, I'm about 40% short mix SPXL vs SPXS but probably 60-70%ish long portfolio value.
I can always use SPY in overnight to adjust if a strong move occurs though it's rarely necessary.
