I don't plan that far in advance. I pick where I "think" it will go but then que up my order with my curser on the the price up/down buttons and watch the price action as it approaches. If the price starts struggling or skyrockets hard like a reversal candle, I input a limit at the price I think I can steal. If it just keeps plugging along nicely, I'll delay my order and keep bumping the price to follow it. I've found that on big reversals, at least a few times a day, they will overrun support and resistance areas to flush out limit orders. Also at times, they like to turn early before it gets to them and I especially don't like to chase. I do need to break myself of that habit but I probably never will as I'm too old to learn new tricks. It would probably be safer to wait for a turn than catching falling knives and stepping in front of rocketships all day but the times I did try chasing, it reversed back to my original planned price.
