I don't plan that far in advance. I pick where I "think" it will go but then que up my order with my curser on the the price up/down buttons and watch the price action as it approaches. If the price starts struggling or skyrockets hard like a reversal candle, I input a limit at the price I think I can steal. If it just keeps plugging along nicely, I'll delay my order and keep bumping the price to follow it.
I've found that on big reversals, at least a few times a day, they will overrun support and resistance areas to flush out limit orders. Also at times, they like to turn early before it gets to them and I especially don't like to chase.
I do need to break myself of that habit but I probably never will as I'm too old to learn new tricks. It would probably be safer to wait for a turn than catching falling knives and stepping in front of rocketships all day but the times I did try chasing, it reversed back to my original planned price.

I will pick luck.

There is a series of books, Ringworld by Larry Niven, in which a character has been bred to be lucky, by crossbreeding lottery winners. There's more to it than that, but it's interesting to read speculation on someone who's luck is greater than average.
