I understand what you're saying here, but did you catch this from one of the articles I linked?

"The firm is already well-known in the corridors of power and has hired former senior government and regulatory officials over the years. The Biden administration tapped BlackRock executives for high-level roles in the White House and Treasury Department. When Covid-19 upended markets, the Federal Reserve sought out BlackRock to help manage the response."

This is the kind of thing I was talking about with political favors impacting business strategy and overall bottom line.

And again, whether or not you believe the real reason for the BoD ousting was due to ESG policies or pure financial analysis, the reality is that the message they sent to execs and BoD members of these companies was that you better consider ESG in your investment decision-making process, or you're leaving yourself vulnerable to being out on your ass.

I agree that we're actually saying some of the same things.
