It didn't do much for energy, since they ended up at a school up north, but, as a symbol, it was very important. Raygun didn't want anything to do with renewables, and left the field to Germany and China.

We've never been very serious about that. Here is really the first time we went after it, and, by we, I mean you and I. The rest of the country is slowly following us. Arnold did it, because of AGW.
We've got a long way to go; it'll take more decades before we get there.
