Mr Scholz made one last push for a settlement between Moscow and Kyiv. He told Mr Zelensky in Munich on February 19 that Ukraine should renounce its NATO aspirations and declare neutrality as part of a wider European security deal
The Europeans are smarter when it comes to issues of war and peace. Maybe not smarter, but at least more experienced. The meaningless war of 1618 - 1648 wiped out between a third and one half of the population of today’s Germany, mostly not because of actual fighting - but the economic devastation. Another few great idiotic wars followed - and by now, Germany is prepared to act on those lessons.

Not to mention that if ICBM’s start flying, Europe would likely be the first to become a radioactive desert.

It’s possible that Biden’s instincts for political survival may take precedence over the ideological priorities of his Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Undersecretary of State Victoria Nuland, the architect of the 2014 Maidan Square coup that set the present tragedy in motion.

Especially during the first quarter of the 21st century, Democrats overwhelmingly "set the tragedy in motion." They must maintain the status quo because they are the ones with the most to lose.

EU countries to force their people to literally "freeze in the dark" this winter? What does this statement look like to you?

<German Minister of Economics Robert Habeck warned this week that the country cannot go into the fall with only 60% of natural gas reserves.

Habeck warned Germans that energy-saving measures may need to be enforced by law. That would include control over your home’s thermostat.

MORE – Habeck added “we can’t go into winter with a 56 percent natural gas storage level. They have to be full.”

On Wednesday Russia announced it would reduce natural gas flows through a key European pipeline by roughly 40% into Germany.

German politicians call this a political move.

The Russians don’t care what they call it. They will have to deal with it.

Russian natural gas flows to France via pipeline from Germany ceased earlier this week>
