Voters may throw out Democrats come November. It told readers, "A Recession Would Hurt Democrats. Some Warn It’d Also Hurt Democracy. "By trying to tame inflation, some commentators say, the Federal Reserve could bring about a recession — just as an unrepentant Donald Trump appears to be eyeing another White House bid." So there you have it. Voters electing our leaders threaten democracy. Trump already leads in the polls. If the election were held today -- we would all be better off because we all would be better off if Democrats had finished in second-place in the last election. If only no ballots had been harvested. Biden would be in the basement where he belongs. Hunter would be in rehab. Trump would be behind the Resolute Desk facing his fifth or sixth impeachment while Chris Cuomo would be on CNN complaining night after night about $3 gasoline and 3% runaway inflation. The Orange Man Bad propaganda would have kept audiences for CNN and MSNBC above that of SpongeBob SquarePants. But today is not election day. The next one is on November 8 and things will get even uglier by then and Democrat prospects will fall so low that they may as well not exist after the 2024 election. Yahoo reported , "Poll: Biden disapproval hits new high as more Americans say they would vote for Trump." Its poll gives Trump a modest 2-point lead in a rematch with Biden: Trump 44, Biden 42. Yahoo said, "Since Biden took office, no previous Yahoo News/YouGov poll has shown him trailing Trump (though Biden’s most recent leads have been within the margin of error, like this one is for Trump). One year ago, Biden led Trump by 9 percentage points." That's an 11-point loss for FJB in one year's time. It reflects his surrender of Afghanistan, rising crime, rising murder, failure in Ukraine, and most of all the worst inflation in two generations. Most Americans were not around when Reagan cured Carter's inflation 40 years ago because the average age of an American is less than 39 years old . Those who don't learn from history will be paying $10 a gallon for gasoline by Labor Day. All of us will. Which brings me back to NYT's piece. After noting that the cure for runaway inflation is a recession, NYT was alarmed that a recession would bring back Trump. Democrats keep telling us he is an authoritarian figure. Yet he didn't use the FBI to spy on political opponents. Obama did. Heck, Trump couldn't even get Milley to stop calling Red China to fink on him. Since when did NYT ever care about facts? It just lies. It is a disinformation and misinformation machine. It concluded its column , "In 1922, writing from a disastrous postwar reconstruction conference in Genoa, Italy, Keynes predicted that if Europe’s growing militarism were left unchecked, “sooner or later an economic disease spreads which ends in some variant of the delirium tremens of revolution.” "That was six months, Carter noted, before Mussolini’s Black Shirts marched on Rome. "In the 1930s, the primary economic problems were unemployment and deflation — and the architects of the New Deal, Keynes among them as a close confidant of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, sought to alleviate both by stimulating inflation. Roosevelt secured, through an amendment to the Agricultural Adjustment Act of 1933, a degree of presidential authority over monetary policy that would be unimaginable today. "One of Roosevelt’s advisers, Rauchway said, told the president he faced a stark choice: 'A rise in prices or a rise in dictators.'" Annual inflation under FDR in the 1930s ranged from -2.8% to 3%. That tells you all you need to know about his reign. I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me mean tweets and give me success! 44% of America already agrees with me.
