I assume you are talking about the rising prices for food. Amazing, is'nt it? All that money printed and handed
out to people who did not need it. And now we have to pay for that sloppy charity but in ways that hurts.

One thing I can say for sure... I have a house we own free and clear in Illinois that I am renting to my Son
at 1/2 normal rates - my wife and I don't need the room or the large yard. We are just renting a nice apt
in Holly Springs, NC because it is only 1 to 2 miles from our Daughter's house so my wife can baby-sit full
time. For a while, we thought we might stay here in NC. Better weather. However, the housing costs here
are insane. This is becomming California. I just saw a listing for a house here in Holly Springs, NC for
$870K that is separated from its neighbors by only 10 feet. The same house but with a basement is
available 20 or 30 instances around where we lived in Illinois for $500K or even $450K.
The wages around here in NC have only gone up about 4% a year recently. A loan for the $870K
house with a 20% down payment at around 6% 30-year mortgage is somewhere around $5,000 a
month. Of course that is after taxes. Let's say a couple with professional jobs are making $120K each.
Well, $5,000 net eats almost all of one of the two salaries after taxes and benefits. So that would be
like that for 30 years. While house prices might decline. Fun. And they tax most retirement income in
NC unlike Illinois. OK, supposedly Illinois sucks. I don't think so.
