It now seems as though a currency board in Indonesia is a certainty (Steve Hanke hinted as much in a conference call and the currency markets appear to be pricing it in). This means that if the board does not go ahead then all the regional currencies will take a bath.

As I expected, TLK is not rallying on this news as the local stock is falling as the exchange rate appreciates (heads you lose tails you lose scenario). I think it is a better idea just to buy the Rupiah directly and avoid the TLK risk.
