Omega didn't really answer the question. Worse, I don't entirely buy the answer they did give: more memory DID increase the number of pages I could have open simultaneously. Perhaps after I scan the eskimo archives for the topic, I may make the query there and x-post to here. The email follows, with my questions at the far bottom. Cheers! P.S. Zeuspaul: right, I didn't work the multi-threading keyword into the query - I had emailed them before you mentioned it. Next time! :-) >> We are limited in what we can recommend as far as hardware for our next version, since it is not finished yet. The 5.0 version will be a 32 bit version is scheduled to be released in the second quarter of this year. The current version is a 16 bit application as you know. It cannot take advantage of the 32 bit architecture of NT 4.0 nor a dual cpu system. However, it will operate on NT 4.0. In addition, larger amounts of Ram ( usually above 32MB), does not make a significant difference in our current version, although it may assist if you are running other software in the background. As we get closer to the release of 5.0 we will know more about its requirements and whether these features are supported. Many of our customers use the multi-screen video card and software provided by STB Vision. You can get more information about them by calling 888-234-8750. Please let us know is you need further assistance. Thank you for your continued support. Omega Research, Inc. Please answer for both TS4.0 and next version. Would DUAL CPU and Windows NT offer any significant performance advantage? Would the SERVER and CHARTING tasks use different CPUs? Would memory sharing between server and charting cause both tasks to operate on 1 cpu? Is too much memory possible? Any recommendations on multiple-monitor setups? Any recommendations on AGP? Any comments on SCSI hard drives and server performance on a large portfolio? Thank you.
