They should rarely cross at all and if they do, it should be at crossroads, not racing past each other.

That is what I am thinking too. If you have to make guess, make it in the direction of the trendline (in this case the yellow line). If however XBI consolidates long enough for the trend line to change directions, then it may go back up.
