I was born and lived 14 years in a similar city in Romania, where Gypsies, Romanians, Swabs, Germans, Hungarians and Jews lived in harmony. Czernowitz in Bucovina was an academic mostly Jewish town - deprived of Jews now, thanks to Stalin, now part of Ukraine Odessa, also a major Jewish Town on the Black Sea - were 10,000 Jews were murdered in cold blood by the "Iron Order" of the Romanian army.
