Really? You believe that>

war is tragic, always

unarmed civilian death always criminal

rest of deaths always questionable

If so, I recommend telling your German friend in Switzerland to call off his German wolves revving up for Barbarossa II, and request your Emperor Pooh Xi to stop threatening bulk murder in Taiwan unless they shut up, give him all their money and assets, surrender, follow orders, and start goose-stepping.

In civilized relationships, they are voluntary exchanges of value between consenting adults.

It's true that many humans are closely related to chimpanzees and operate a top down, dog eat dog, and human eat dog, alpha male totalitarian territorial kleptocratic dominance hierarchy. The more civilized of us use VVVs, free enterprise, private property, self-determination, voluntary association and trade. We enjoy doing good things and good work. We're proud of what we produce. Learn, work, save, invest, spend wisely. Barbarians rob, loot, kill, boss and waste; everything is illegal unless it's compulsory, the individual is trivial, the state is all.

With 50 shades of grey of course because few of us are perfect. Even I still need to get to 10th dan perfection by a slight increase in modesty and humility, then I'll be there.

TJ - There are wars and there are those wars driven by cruelty and disregard of any resemblance of human values.

Some examples WWI or WWII the invasion of China by Japan the counteroffensive of the Red Army in WWII and atrocities committed by them and the German army allies.

As a side comment; that many do not know and worthwhile to find and read the story of Israel's Noble Price winner Shay Agnon - A City In Its Fullness (the city of Buczacz) or - City and fullness

The story of the city of Butchash, from which emerges the picture of the Jewish town in Galicia.

a place from where my mother family originated which stories describe the harmony of the various faiths in this city Catholics Orthodox Christians and Jews and how the Russians destroyed the harmony of this city and the mutual respect of each ethnic population to the other.

The essence of the story teach us that 3 faiths where living peacefully in this city until the Bolsheviks arrived and later the Germans Army/SS Eizatztruppen and later the ravages of the Red Army on the local population who believed based on rumors to be NAZI cooperators without any material evidence.

I was born and lived 14 years in a similar city in Romania, where Gypsies, Romanians, Swabs, Germans, Hungarians and Jews lived in harmony. On each Jewish Passover wen the unlevied bread (Matzah) was rationalized my mother always remembered to send some to my German teacher at my German school, which I attended, because she loved it with morning coffee.

Czernowitz in Bucovina was an academic mostly Jewish town - deprived of Jews now, thanks to Stalin, now part of Ukraine

Odessa, also a major Jewish Town on the Black Sea - were 10,000 Jews were murdered in cold blood by the "Iron Order" of the Romanian army. Mostly deprived of Jews now, thanks to Stalin, now part of Ukraine

... and also Baby Yar ravine in Kiev (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Babi_Yar)

My point is that humans can live in harmony regardless of faith or heritage if there is mutual respect for each other heritage.
