We can never hate them as much as they hate us. The price we pay for believing in God.

I was at a conference years ago and the guy I worked for decided to take us for lunch, as we were walking out we came up to his competition talking to the government bureaucrat in charge of issuing permits. He gave the bureaucrat's arm a little grab, shook his hand, grabbed the other guy's hand and said "Fred, this is my competition, but he is one of the best men God ever made, we're late for lunch, good day gentlemen."

At lunch he surmised his good natured jostling was the equivalent of stabbing his competition with a Bowie knife.

"The power which a multiple millionaire, who may be my neighbour and perhaps my employer, has over me is very much less than that which the smallest functionaire possesses who wields the coercive power of the state, and on whose discretion it depends whether and how I am to be allowed to live or to work."
