The point being is that the wealthiest benefit from these lo/hi interest rate cycles. The poor and middle class get hammered.
When do these things NOT disproportionately harm the poor and middle class?

Bottom line is that the Fed pumped too much money into the economy.

All this talk about Japanese-style deflation completely ignores what happened in the 1970's when stagflation became a thing.

We got out of it before by raising interest rates and introducing supply-side Reaganomics. After the short-term pain, Volcker and Reagan ushered in the longest period of economic expansion in American history.

That's part of the reason why I'm astounded beyond belief that the left wants to resurrect Carter's failed policies.
