Thank you! I’m just having a good day. Like, just now I finally realized that yes! - NATO, after decades of searching for a mission, is still a defensive alliance. It receives the rules for a rule-based world order (as opposed to law based) - which it then aspires to defend. In fairness, it has to be rules rather than laws - because up to date we still don’t have an official World Government which could be instructed to pass legit laws. Transitional periods can be confusing. Just ask Klaus. He really must feel he’s stuck in limbo.
