I look at a lot of factors, technical and fundamental before I go long or short a stock. Technically, I prefer to buy stocks that are in uptrends, meaning the 50-SMA and. 200-sma are upwardly sloping to the right. I look at money flow, slow Stochaistics, CCI, Macd and RSI. I am also very much into Elliot Wave so I need to see the stock in a Wave set up that will make me money. Fundamentally, I look at ROE, ROA, PE, PEG, insider buying, earnings growth, cash flows and dividend. It is difficult to get everything above positive. But if I can get 90% of my above indicators positive, I will take a position.

I'm primarily a swing trader, not buy and hold. I have done very well with my approach and time frame over the years. I will often pyramid my positions on the long and short side when a stock I own is behaving properly and showing an impulsive structure. I enjoy what I do very much. I tend to let my winners run and cut my losses quickly. I am humble and always look to learn new things to maximize profit and improve my life.
