He’s very little known in the West - but he’s the individual who contributed far more than any other human being to the demise of the USSR. A poet, actor and a great songwriter and performer, in his songs he openly revealed the horrors of the Soviet regime. His satire was powerful. His popularity was immense. Here are a couple of songs with subtitles - the first one is a sad and somewhat humorous one, about how often poets die young. The other one is about a wolf hunt. A very different, intense song. Wolfs get it with their mother’s milk that the can’t cross barriers marked with red flags. Hunters use this to contain them and kill them.
