there was a women on fox about three days ago. she is a fund raiser for republican pacs.. she said the corporations and large donors are tired of trump and what someone else to run. no names mentioned. she also said they are upset over his spending some many dollars in these primaries where the money is really needed for the nov elections. Sounds like she’s just upset that the people Trump supported are beating the Rinos in the primaries.

I don't think you can stop the most extreme of wealth partisans from contributing to the candidates of their choice. It seems to me the system is just too reliant on those funds. But, we need to outlaw contributions to election operations in all jurisdictions. Since it affects federal election outcomes, it needs to be a prohibition at the federal level. IMO. Operations has always, AFAIK, been funded from local budgets. WE are really in a dangerous place, IMO.

i do not understand how you stop soros and other huge billionaire donors that favor DNC liberals. State legislatures must pass appropriate laws. Personal donations are limited, but rich people have ways to get things done through NGO’s and nonprofits. What makes plain old billionaires into oligarchs? When their great private wealth is used to influence elections. In recent decades, more and more, every schmuck with a couple of billions to rub together wants to be a kingmaker.
