The Irish would fight for anyone that would feed them, sounds surprising today but historically most fighters were hired. Cheaper if you can have an armed citizenry drunk on patriotic bromides ready to pull the trigger. In my last trip to Western Ukraine the people we stayed with asked us to speak English every night to the little kids. The people were the grandparents of the little kids, their parents were working in other countries. Even in Kiev and Lviv almost everyone wanted to venture to Europe or if possible North America, they are now getting their wish. It will be good to have more Ukrainians in North America, they are hard working and stoic people. My friend's mother is a painter and can replicate Repin to such exacting detail her work is not allowed to leave Russia. Like we discussed before Ukraine was not always Ukraine.
